The International Association of Progressive Montessori (IAPM) is a Montessori organization founded by Angela Martin in London in 1962. The name “Progressive Montessori” was chosen as a tribute to Dr. Montessori, who we recognize as the most PROGRESSIVE educator of our time.

The Foundation was established in 1992 to create an independent source of assistance, encouragement, and support for the international Montessori community.

The Montessori Foundation works with the entire Montessori community, regardless of affiliation, as well as parents, educators, schools, and school systems that are interested in learning more about the insights, research, and approach pioneered by Dr. Maria Montessori.

PAMS is a Not for Profit 501(c)(3) Corporation, incorporated in Delaware. It is organized exclusively for charitable, educational, scientific and literary purposes to establish Schools of Montessori Teacher Education which will prepare Montessori master teachers, school administrators, classroom teachers and instructional assistants, and which will offer courses to parents on child development, parenting and the Montessori System of Education.

American Montessori Society (AMS)

The American Montessori Society is a hub for all things Montessori: an information center for its members, the media, and the public; a voice in the public policy arena; and a mobilizing force for the global Montessori community, through support services, research, and professional development events.

International Montessori Council (IMC)

The International Montessori Council (IMC) is an international organization of Montessori schools, the men and women who lead them, own them, or serve on their boards, and other organizations interested in supporting the goals of the IMC. As an independent Montessori professional and accrediting organization, the IMC serves the entire Montessori community.
